I met Will Clark in the summer of 2013, when he bought the property across the street from me He alone built a cute house-like structure to store his tools in. Then he began to work on the main house. I had been looking for someone to replace two of my exterior doors for quite some time and was getting discouraged. I had received three different bids, and each told me that hanging doors was complicated and they weren’t sure it was something they were up for. I was impressed with Will’s progress across the street on his own home, so I asked him to look at my door situation. In December 2013, I hired Will to replace my two exterior doors. It was nearing Christmas and I wanted the doors in place before the 25th. I chose doors at Home Depot and discovered they were not in stock at the Bellingham store, but there were two available at the Burlington store. He immediately began work, including installing the door knobs and locks, and everything was done to my satisfaction and ready for Christmas Day. Will not only did a good job under pressure, but he also did some little extras, was polite, kind, trustworthy and genuinely concerned that I was happy, and I am. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

I have been using Will’s services since May 2012. His work has always been of the best quality and very well done. Some of his major projects in the past three years include a deck and stairs with a sealer finish. He also installed two new doors on our tool shed, and a fence and roof covering the area. Will has a wide range of talents. He has done tile work for us both inside and outside. He has helped remodel our bathroom, installing a pull-down ladder for our attic, fixing rutted fascia boards, and a myriad of typical house repairs. In all my dealings with his firm, I have never encountered a problem that couldn’t be worked out. He is truthful, arrives when promised, and goes over costs before starting the job. On completion of the work, he cleans up and takes the salvage material to the RE Store.

He is good at diagnosing problems, polite, neat and reliable. I trust him to go into my house when I’m not home. He’s not just a contractor and handyman, he’s an artisan. His tiling skills are amazing. Besides that, his rates are very reasonable. There are some contractors out there who routinely gouge their clients; Will is not one of those. His fees are reasonable, and he has told me himself that money is not his primary motivator.

What impressed me was his ability to problem-solve working on a pillar base issue that he had not encountered before. This “can do” attitude was backed up with craftsman skill and performance with everything he did. He was very efficient timewise working through our checklist, and saved us money by our not having to contract different workers for different tasks. I also enjoyed working with him on some of the projects. If we were staying in Bellingham, Will would certainly be our “go-to” guy.

Will did a great job finding siding that matched my garage from 1929 and repaired it fast. He even leveled the garage wall that was leaning because of rot. He communicated well by letting me know when he was going to work on it. My carport looked as good as new with the new posts. He noticed the carport roof was failing and fixed that too.
